D&D Origins is looking for players Empty D&D Origins is looking for players

I have taken up the gauntlet to DM a game of D&D 5 edition. It will be a fairly basic adventure to get us all adjusted to the new edition, because I understood no one had played this edition except for me.

- Regional/background restriction:

You will all be citizens of the Austerian State, a democratic city state with lots of green fields and lush forests outside of its capital of Austeria. The party will start in a village bordering the Confederacy of Valess. It may be peaceful now, but as always, trouble is just a halfling away.

- Race restriction: Only common races

- Level 1

- Feats are allowed

- 27 point buy

Anything else?

I'm sorry that Profession(Sheep Herder) has been removed this edition, so I try to make up for it this way.

What about the Sheep Lover regional feat? It's gotta be there!

I've edited the OP to include the point buy rules and will create separate characters and lore threads.

So ummm....you still accepting characters?  Would a Drow be permitted?

If you will permit, myself and Kory (GMStefan) would like to be a Drow Wizard / Drow Warlock combo added to your party.

Hey, hey, of course we remember a scoundrel such as you! Alas only common races are allowed for campaign, so no drow as they are uncommon. I think they don't even exist on the continent. Maybe if we somehow end up in the shadowfell?

Drow aren't technically uncommon, not per the table.  They're more a DM decision per the rulebook as I read it.

If that is your ruling though fair sir, so shall it be!

Any restrictions as far as elves then? Wood elves and high elves allowed or just regular elves?

Got him already.  We're working on a pair of elvish brothers / friends or something along those lines.

One wizard and one warlock.  Give the party that extra firepower that might be lacking.

Chaotic characters, a bit young and naive etc.

I'm going for a bit of a frontline powerbuild, thought it was funny with the other two frontline beasts, but it will take a level or two to ramp up. Some extra firepower on the backline will not go amiss.

In case you missed it, we covered pretty much every skill and Perception twice so feel free to double up on some of the important ones in case .. you know .. people die or stuff.

I didn't use any yet, I'll make them something I discover later if there are any that I want later, some looked interesting but I needed to cover the bases first.

I want you all to start in Gormsey, Austeria, so you might want to think about how you ended up there.

Bryn's master is in Gormsey trying to find special ingredients for a new spell that he's researching. Bryn, while he has completed his apprenticeship, still travels with the old wizard to help him out with things now and then. Lath tagged along to see how the pickings were in a different town.

Lath has started to commune with The Great Old Ones as well, part of his pact as a warlock, and he was directed to follow the wizard to Gormsey.
